Last Update on May 9, 2007.
The College of the Voyagers is the Caltech chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism. we are a campus group dedicated to researching and reenacting the middle ages.
What do we do?
We recreate many aspects of the Middle Ages. The focus is on late medieval Europe, but can include any culture that had contact with Europe in any time prior to 1600.
Arts and sciences play a big role and give you a chance to indulge your creativity. Weaving, sewing, calligraphy, cooking, brewing, blacksmithing, jewelry making, pottery making, and musical performance are just a few of the activities available.
The martial arts are also recreated, although we do it in a non-lethal way. Anyone interested in fighting can try heavy fighting (the broadsword and shield type of fighting most associated with the middle ages), rapier, or even siege weapons.
Who are we?
We are a group of students and staff from the Caltech community. Our officers are:

Once in a while, we will have an outing to an SCA event, (including camping trips to some of the big wars, where we arrange transportation). About once a month we hold a workshop on Medieval arts and crafts at Caltech, and if you're lucky, you may catch a dance workshop or an armor-making night. There are occasional movie nights, and from time to time we make Medieval clothing as well.
